Review by Mark: Way over-rated. Very poorly written users guide. Too much burde on the user to download other software to make Mechanic software start. Very limited capbility - can only handle one drive. No tech support -- phone number provided is fictitious. One job that is running has been going for over 24 hours. Crappy untested junk! Review by Robert Walraven: I'm not very computer savvy and my computer seems to almost always have some kind of problem. When my hard drive would no longer boot I purchased the Hard Drive Mechanic to try and repair it myself. At first, I couldn't repair my PC and thought the program didn't work. After another try, the Hard Drive Mechanic found FAT errors and partition table damage. Thank God that it fixed the problems automatically because I don't know what I'm doing.
The Drive Mechanic is guaranteed to work so I was going to just return it if I couldn't figure it out. Now that I know it works I am keeping it for next time I mess up my computer. (5/5 - 1-Aug-2006)

I figured I would try this drive mechanic software before I reformat the disk and loose all my data. I'm happy to say that my hard drive is back working and I was able to recover everything. The problem was a "damaged partition table" and crossed linked files.. or something like that.
